- Summer Squash with butter-yellow flesh grow as vines or bushes.
- Plant seeds in full sun, when night temperatures do not fall below 55 degrees.
- Plant in soil with pH of 6.0 to 7.5. Dig a trench 18 inches deep, cover with compost/fertilizer and sandy loam to make a mound about 4in high.
- Sow 6-8 seeds 1inch deep. Space 4-6 feet apart.
- Water frequently. Mulch to prevent rot.
- Pick approximately 50-60 days after planting, when young fruits are 6-8 inches long.
