- The fruit is a deep orange red with a dark yellow flesh upon ripening in November. It is oblong conical in shape. Ripe Hachiya's have a soft texture and are often almost liquefied into a silky smooth pulp inside--they are commonly peeled, pureed into a pulp to add to baked goods. Fruits will ripen once picked.
- This tree can reach a height and width of approximately 12 feet at maturity.
