Phaseolus vulgaris

• Plant seeds in rich, fertile soil during early summer when the ground and night temperatures are warm. Full sun exposure.
• Spread mulch or straw around base of plant to avoid rot.
• Fertilize periodically.
• Thin to 4-6 inches apart.
• Pinch or cut pods every few days for tender beans. Frequent harvest encourages production of more pods.
